Presley's Birthday Weekend!

Presley turned two April 2nd and to celebrate we had a whole weekend full of family fun! Jay decided that April 1st would always be a Daddy-Daughter night and they had a blast just the two of them. I was surprised when I came home from work and found a brand new train set put up in the living room. Apparently, this night will include special presents Momma doesn't know about!
Friday, we all had to work (or go to daycare) but we had a floor full of balloons when she woke up. The look of wonder and amazement was priceless! After work, we all ran a few errands to get ready for her party on Saturday. This included hitting up Costco for Alice in Wonderland (Disney version) and cupcakes! We ended up celebrating with birthday dinner at Red Robin. If you want to know how many people try hard not to have babies on April Fools Day, go out to eat on April 2nd! They were literally singing every 5 minutes while we were there. Presley had her turn and a hot fudge sundae to go with it. What is the best way to eat a hot fudge sundae you might ask...
Not with a spoon!

On Saturday, Presley slept in long enough for us to get the house clean and ready for party guests. After she woke up, we headed out for the Fire Fighter's Easter Egg Hunt. We met friends there and had a blast for about four minutes. We ended up with about 5 eggs! Presley also got her picture taken in one of the fire engines. Too bad Daddy wanted in the picture instead of those cute firefighters Momma saw :)

After nap time (which no one in our house participated in), friends and grandparents started arriving for the party. We had thought about doing a BBQ, but with April showers, decided on pizza instead. As you can tell, a pizza party is a hit with the younger crowd.
After pizza and playtime, came presents. We got a lot of great stuff! Including some cute clothes, toys for our new sand and water table, a "laptop", books and a waterproof baby to take in our bath or in the pool! After presents, came cupcakes and candles!

After some delicious Costco cupcakes, we had more playtime. The girls gossiped about the new round of babies (all boys) that will begin showing up in our neighborhood in the next few days/weeks and the men talked manly talk of guns and fishing! The girls decided to try out their gymnastics skills, which included jumping on the couch!

As we don't celebrate Easter, we spent Sunday morning celebrating Nana's birthday with breakfast out. We had a great time and Presley had picked out a very pretty azalea tree for Nana to plant. After breakfast, we loaded up the car and headed to the OMSI. We had a fun couple hours playing in the water, seeing dinosaur fossils and doing a test run at the Omni-Max theater. We went to see a Dino movie but only lasted until the first 12 minutes of so. Darn the seismosaurus who decided to roar a little bit! We also cruised through the Space exhibit.

Now at home, we are finishing out the weekend doing some laundry, updating the blog and just spending some quiet time together. We hope your weekend was as fun-filled as ours!
