It is hard to believe but the boys have been around the better part of a month now! It may be because they have only been home with us for 9 days, because (so far!) they are mostly mellow and easy going, or it is already flying by too fast, but it is hard to believe today is their 3 week birthday!!!
The first week has been remarkably smooth and easy. With the hopes of not jinxing myself, we have had a wonderfully smooth transition. They are predictably hungry every three hours (Casen does try to get up early at night, but he is happy just snuggling for a bit). They don't cry or fuss near as much as Presley did! They are just happy, mellow little men. We had their two week check last Friday and they looked great. They are gaining weight and are both at 6 pounds 10 ounces! They will be chunky babies in no time!
Our transition with Presley has also been smooth. Thus far, we haven't had more than a handful of break downs and even those haven't been horrible. I have learned to get her occupied with something fun or different before we start our feeding process. Presley has been a great big sister. She inquires about them first thing in the morning, gives them kisses before bedtime, calls them her babies, brings blankets to keep them warm and picks out their clothes in the morning! What a big girl! Once again, I am crossing my fingers! I am sure we are bound for a big fit or temper tantrum but for now, I am happy at how smoothly she has taken over the role of big sister!
The boys are starting to show little glimpses of personality. Colton is by far more mellow and calm. When he does wake up for extended periods of time, he keeps his big blues open and just looks around. He doesn't make much noise and is content to just hang out. Casen is a bit more 'work'. He is usually the first to wake up hungry, he also doesn't like to fall right back asleep. If you try putting him down in the basket, he fusses just enough until you pick him up and he can fall asleep being held. He also has begun to spit up a bit and he has gas like crazy. If it gets much worse, I'll start cutting out dairy (hopefully not caffeine and chocolate). Presley had the same gas and uncomfortable tummy and she was lactose intolerant for the first year. It takes a bit more work on my part but it is worth not hearing the baby in discomfort.
The boys are fraternal twins and looked very different from the start. The last week, we have noticed that as they start to fill out, they are looking more and more alike. It is a good thing Casen has a birthmark to go looking for if we get confused! It has been wonderful being the parents of twins so far. We are excited for the summer weather to arrive so we can get out and about and enjoy more fun family times!
In Presley news, she has used two diapers day since we stopped going to the hospital every day. She uses one at nap time and one at bed time! We have even braved the grocery store without a diaper and had success!!! Woohoo!!!

Thanks so much for the update and photos. You can tell the boys are "blossoming" and getting bigger. What can we say about Presley? She's a doll and, thankfully, a helpful big sister so far.
