Presley Update

Poor kid, with twin brothers on the way, she thinks she is losing limelight! I need to take some new pictures to attach and will do so very soon, but in the meantime, here is the update to our wonderful little girl...

Pres will be 22 months old on Tuesday. She is doing some amazing things, things that make her daddy and I shake our heads and ask how she got so smart. Just two days ago, she managed to put her own diapers on her baby dolls correctly. I think this is great as maybe just maybe there will be three of us for diaper duty in the future. Yesterday for the first time she put her one piece pajamas on by herself. She usually one needs help with the arms. But yesterday, she got her own arms in, zipped up and did her happy dance (yes, we have a happy dance!)! She is also the best kid in daycare. She is the only one there who has managed to stay out of time out for 6 months. Don't worry, she makes up for it at home!!! She does go frequently to time out, but for her it is an independence thing. I want her to do things on her own but also know when to ask for help. She throws some major tantrums if you help her without her asking!
Presley can walk up and down the steps without any help now, and if your not watching closely, she may even try jumping down them. Talk about scaring Momma! Presley has been able to open all of our child locks since she was about 16 months old. About two months ago, she figured out how the dishwasher works, so now she helps load and unload, and she is in charge of making sure there are soap tablets in and ready to go. She helps hold the doors when its time to take the garbage and recycling outside. She feeds Titus and gives him treats.
She knows her colors and can recognize some letters and numbers. She will repeat counting and the alphabet but she doesn't do it on her own. She loves to help cook, mostly because she gets to sit on the counter while she helps. She still doesn't eat a whole lot. She picks here and there but just like her Momma, if there is a cinnamon roll in sight, she will devour it! Her favorite food is either oatmeal or honey. She can climb into and buckle herself into her car seat, luckily she can't undo it yet!
Pres fights nap time and bedtime as much as possible, but she is such an flexible kid that as long as she is busy, she keeps a positive attitude. She has been sleeping with a pillow for about a month and here in the next few days (or when Jay and I get brave enough), we will be moving her to her toddler bed cold turkey! I have a feeling it will be a easier way for her to sleep in our bed more often, which is exactly where she wants to be.
Presley says 'please' and 'thank you' consistently. She is the politest kid I have ever meant! She is also starting to string sentences together. She loves playing with her friends and for the most time does a great job sharing! Presley is also self potty training. If we can all get a little more serious, I think we could be out of diapers during the day. She loves being naked and going on the potty at home. But out and about and at daycare, she doesn't realize there are potties. So she doesn't ask to go. Our fault, like I said Jay and I need to get more serious about it! She also can work an I phone like a champ. She has her own applications on both our phones and knows how to get to them and turn them on and off. She is currently working on taking pictures and videos with it!! Bonus is she has only called Jay's boss once!

Well, I think that is all I got for now! We are thankful for such a sweet and smart little girl. Each and everyday, we look at her and wonder how we got so lucky!!! We love you Presley!!!
