Fourth of July! What a wonderful time of year! We love displaying our American Flag all year around on the house, but we take special pride in displaying it on Independence Day! This is the first year I remember getting into the 90's on the fourth and it was great to have such beautiful weather. Our day began with a half marathon bright and early. My dad, three friends and I all competed. I am so proud of all of us for finishing! I finished the 13.1 mile course in 2 hours and 3 minutes and I am proud to say everyone else kicked my butt! Way to go Dad, Jen, Autumn and Rene! It was an amazing feeling crossing the finish line after such an accomplishment! I am thinking about doing a few 10K over the course of the year and I think I will compete again next year in this same race!

We had a great fireworks display put on by the neighbors around us. It was fun to see what got blown up around the neighborhood and from our house it seemed like many of them were exploding just for our viewing pleasure :) Presley did not stay up for fireworks. Her grandparents were down visiting and she was exhausted from all the fun. She also made out like a bandit! She got a ton of new clothes, a Dora chair, a Dora dolly, a great picnic table just her size, and a new splish splash pool! She gets to play in the pool after she wakes up from nap today. I would like to share how far we have come in the last year..
