We had a lot of fun in January, especially the last two weeks! We spent the beginning of the month cleaning up from Christmas and going back to everyday routine. It's nice to have Christmas come around, but it's just as nice to leave the holiday rush behind!
January 22nd was Jay's 31st birthday. Grandma and Grandpa Weatherley got to stay home with Presley for the evening, while Jason and I made the trip to Portland for a fabulous dinner! We ate dinner at a place called Lolo's. We had some great Spanish tapas and drinks! The hanger steak and potatoes bravo were delish. I had a house infused jalapeno tequila margarita! It was the best. We will definitely be back for another night out. We went to Papa Haydn for dessert. They are famous for their dessert but Jay was disappointed in his German chocolate (he has it EVERY year), so I promised to make my homemade version in the next week or so.
Over the weekend, we went to Grandma and Grandpa Hopkins in Yakima. We woke up to a little bit of snow, which is always a nice surprise. We ate some great shredded pork chili Grandpa made. We got to play with all Presley's uncles and all the family dogs. We also got to see Uncle Konner wrestle for the first time in a year. Jay got into the hot tub but I forgot my suit. Grandpa and Grandma did a huge remodel and addition. There is a lot of great space to hang out in.
We are back home for the time being. I am making beer cheese soup and Jay is relaxing with his XBOX. Pres is wandering between us. She is getting so close to walking. Soon, we will post that news. The beer cheese soup is a recipe I found on Big Oven and modified to fit our tastes. It smells good! We are going to eat dinner, so until next time...
